What SaveAds cannot do
Snapchat publishes a single scope covering read and write — there is no read-only variant to request. SaveAds forbids itself any write in the code.
The ad accounts the authorisation exposes, campaigns and creatives included.
Snapchat Ads integration
This is the integration where SaveAds restricts itself more than the platform requires — and the reason is worth stating.
What does the SaveAds Snapchat Ads integration do?
The Snapchat Ads integration reads the ad accounts the authorisation exposes: campaigns, budgets, spend, conversions and creatives. SaveAds refuses to write there, even though Snapchat publishes a single authorisation covering both reading and writing — there is no read-only variant to request.
A self-imposed restriction
Snapchat offers one authorisation, covering reading AND writing. SaveAds would technically hold write rights from the moment of connection. It does not use them.
The reason is simple: offering an “apply” button on a platform whose write path has never been demonstrated would be an unverified promise. A broad permission does not justify broad use.
One authorisation, every organisation
As on Meta, the token belongs to the connection: one authorisation covers every Snapchat organisation it exposes, and therefore the ad accounts under them.
What comes back
Campaigns with their budgets and results, and creatives with theirs. As on TikTok and Meta, degradation shows first at creative level.
Out of scope
- No writing, by choice: no pausing, no budget, no creation.
- No audience or pixel management.
- Figures are those supplied by the Snapchat API.
- History depth depends on your plan.
Frequently asked questions
Why not enable writing since the authorisation covers it?
- Because a technical right is not a proven feature. Opening writing requires a tested path, a log and a rollback — which exist on Google Ads, and nowhere else for now.
Is Snapchat comparable with other platforms?
- On spend and volume, yes. On conversions, attribution windows differ from one platform to another.
How do I remove access?
- From SaveAds, or from your Snapchat organisation settings.
