Automating Google Ads with AI without losing control

Advertising automation always fails the same way: too much at once, with no limits and no undo. SaveAds splits it into five levels you climb at your own pace, and crosses none of them without your consent.

What is Google Ads automation under safeguards?

Automating Google Ads under safeguards means allowing software to apply a closed list of actions, within limits the server enforces, with a history and an undo. In SaveAds, five autonomy levels run from analysis only to continuous optimisation: at the first three nothing is applied without a click; at the last two, only the actions you listed apply on their own.

The five autonomy levels

The level changes at any time, and comes down as fast as it goes up. Most accounts stay at level 3 for several weeks before moving, and that is the right pace.

  • Level 1 — Analysis — the AI observes and explains. No action proposed.
  • Level 2 — Recommendations — the AI proposes costed changes; you read them.
  • Level 3 — Approval — you apply each change in one click.
  • Level 4 — Controlled auto — the actions you listed apply on their own; the rest wait.
  • Level 5 — Autopilot — continuous optimisation, within the limits you set.

What actually gets automated

The list is short, deliberately. Add negative keywords, change a budget, pause or re-enable a campaign, pause or re-enable a keyword. Nothing else is applied automatically to your account.

Platforms other than Google Ads are never modified: on Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and Snapchat a recommendation stays a recommendation for you to apply, because the permissions requested from those platforms only cover reading.

Limits are enforced by the server

A maximum budget variation, a list of allowed actions, a cap on AI credits: those rules only matter if they are checked where the user cannot touch them. In SaveAds they are enforced server-side, on every action, not merely displayed in the interface.

That is why a high autonomy level stays reasonable: the worst case is bounded in advance, rather than left to the model’s goodwill.

History and rollback

Every applied action is logged with its previous state. The undo restores that state — after checking that the current value is still the one SaveAds set. If a budget shared by several campaigns is involved, the rollback flags it rather than changing campaigns you were not thinking about.

Automating does not mean not looking

Automation saves time on execution, not on judgement. A campaign paused automatically deserves a second look: the drop that triggered it may come from seasonality, a stock-out or a change on your website. SaveAds measures the effect of every action so that second look is quick.

What automation will not do

  • It does not create campaigns or ads for you inside your Google Ads account.
  • It does not change your bidding strategies or your audiences.
  • It touches no platform other than Google Ads.
  • Levels 4 and 5 are available from the Business plan upwards.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if an automatic action turns out badly?

It is logged with its previous state and can be reverted. The rollback first checks that the value has not changed since, so it does not overwrite a decision you made in between.

Can I automate some actions and not others?

Yes. That is exactly what level 4 does: you list the actions allowed to apply on their own, and the rest keep waiting for your approval.

Does automation work on Meta or TikTok?

No. SaveAds reads those platforms but does not write to them: the permissions requested only cover reading. Recommendations about them are applied from the platform’s own interface.
